We went out on the boat with the IL's yesterday for Father's Day. They've had the boat for a couple of years but we've never gone out on it. Don't really know how that works out, I think it's that the first summer they had it, Goose was an infant and we didn't want to take her and last summer, they didn't go out much.
It was the most beautiful day yesterday. Sunny and high 60's, warm enough to not have to wear a jacket for most of the day. We hit the water about 1-ish and cruised around the Sound for a few hours. Goose was exhausted by the time we got home. We all had the best day though, and despite being so tired, we didn't have one tantrum! YAY!
Checking out the scenery, wearing her cool froggy life jacket.
Laughing at Daddy and feeling the air on our faces.
"Flying" with Daddy.
She even got to drive the boat with Dandy (that's what she calls her grandpa.)
We went up to the paper mill in Shelton and watched the harbor seals for a while. There were so many of them! Most of them got spooked when we approached the logs they were sunning themselves on, but a few of them came and checked us out.
There was a great view of Mt. Rainier as well.
After the boat ride we went back to the IL's and had some BBQ for dinner. I had to force myself to eat my steak since we had eaten so much junk food on the boat. Goose didn't eat any of her dinner, not that I expected too. Who would have room after Cheeto's, chips, brownies, cherries, etc. etc. etc.
All in all, it was a gorgeous day in the North West. It looks like summer might actually be starting! Yippee!
