Artswalk is my favorite local event of the year.  I look forward to it every spring.
It's a celebration of local artists of all kind and it all culminates with the the Procession of the Species.

I look forward to it every year.

Oh, Oly, how I love you! So quirky and and funky.
Laid-back, hippy-esque, yuppy-ish, kids running wild in the street... FUN!
They had buckets of chalk for people to draw in the middle of the roads!
The Procession is very grassroots, anyone can participate as long as they are willing to have fun and make their own costume.

It's supposed to be all about animals, but it IS Oly... so its only natural that you get some, okay a lot, of crazies out for the day.  But it just wouldn't be home without them. :-P
It's one big party for ALL!

very, very odd, indeed.

Isn't that, by definition, a male sea horse?

The amazing hand made costumes and floats!

All in all a super fun time!
And thankfully, the weather held out long enough for the parade.
It was like the clouds parted and the sun shone down on us.
Sure it was kinda cold, but as long as the sun is out,
I'm one happy OlyGrl@<3!
