WIWT - Old Tights

I've had these tights since high school.  I have no idea how they have survived this long. 

I bought them my senior year when I took a trip with my family to Japan.

The shopping there is AH-may-ZING!

I'm a quarter Japanese. We went (my dad, bother, Grandma and I) to Japan and I got to meet so many different relatives.

My grandmother's brother and sister. Her mother. Cousins.

It was really an amazing experience!

I would love to go back to Japan as an adult, I was only 17 when we went, so I missed out on alot!

I was there...

As a true scrapbooker would say "if there ain't a picture, it didn't happen," that is the story of my life. I tend to be "excluded" from events simply because of the fact that I am always behind the camera lens. That is, unless I force Goose to take pictures of me or with me. What can I say... I'd like to look back through my scrapbooks and know I was there... included. Plus, Goose LUVS to use a camera!

Christmas Eve Festivities

I know... I'm a little behind in posting.  We were in E.WA for Christmas and I didn't get a chance to post until now.  Had to work... like, actually catch up on stuff.  So... yeah... this has really been my first chance to actually sit down, upload some pics and write some stuff down.  

Before I get to the pics, I must say this has actually been one of the better Christmases in years.  Spent the 23rd at the In-Laws, the 24th with Googoo and Gaga, and the 25th with my mom and sisters and the rest of the gang. Then we drove to E.WA on the 26th for some more family fun and drove back home on the 27th.  

Seeing my daughter playing with her cousin (or "best friend" if you ask Goose) is the most magical thing ever.  Ant (her cousin) is very much a girly-girl and Goose is very much not.  But they love to play together.  They share... they get along... Goose taught Ant how to play her new Leapster 2 and EVEN let her play.  Anyway... more on THAT later.  I think this Christmas might take several posts... tee-hee!

Preview

Okay, so the plan is to re-open my Etsy store (well, its technically not closed) around the New Year and have a bunch of new stuff to post.  I still have to take photos of everything, but I have in the works, some knitted bows, feather head bands and clips, skoods, and, of course, more jewelry.

I haven't decided if I am keeping this one though or if I will list it. We shall see! I have such a hard time making stuff for the shoppe...

PS - I even made a little clippy, Christmas style, to wear to the office Christmas Party tomorrow.  Had to pull out some broken vintage jewelry to make them purty!!!

The spirit of the holidays, that is...  

I've been trying to keep my mind off of the recent happenings of my dog.  Trying to stop my self from crying.  I must admit, however, that I didn't vacuum today when I was cleaning because I don't want the house to stop smelling like Molly yet.  Yeah, the dog smell.  I know its gross, and, silver lining, I'll be happy for it to go away... just not yet.  

Yesterday, after explaining Molly's death to Goose, I laid on the floor and just smelled the carpet.  It's weird, I know... but its all I have left of her besides my memories.  So Goose and I have had many long conversations about how Molly is in Heaven and that God brought her "home" and now she doesn't hurt and isn't sick.  I showed her Molly's grave and we talked about how much we loved her and missed her.  

Goose proclaimed that Molly didn't have a "wall" and that she needed one.  It took me a while to figure it out, but the "wall" that Goose was talking about is a head stone.  I told her we would paint something special, a plaque or something, and use it as her marker.  Goose is 3, how does she know about grave stones? Scooby Doo is my guess...

Anyway, this was supposed to be a cheerful post.  I have been crafting like crazy! Making Christmas decorations and presents (including some SUPER cute feather headbands that may or may not end up in my Etsy store) lots of cleaning, clearing the house of dog... except for vacuuming.  Anyway, here is what I have been up to lately.

Tree is smaller than normal. We have WAY too many ornaments, that or I have a serious problem. Also decorated with some finger knitted garlands. I'm going for a bit of a home-made Christmas this year. 

Each of the wreaths are wicker and came from The Dollar Tree ($1 each! Ye-ah!) and I wrapped them with yarn of different colors and textures.  I added embellies and sayings and made them cute.  But they are super easy and very festive!!  

This is the most I have ever decorated for Christmas, at least not on this scale.  And 90% of my decorations came from The Dollar Tree. I freakin' love that place.  Not to mention some of the vintage ornaments from Fun Junk.  

So, I think I may be tapped out on my Christmas crafting/decorating.  Well, I'll finish the gifts I need to make and THEN I will be DONE.  Honestly though, I've really enjoyed this recent crafting binge.  Like I said, it takes my mind off of everything going on right now.
