New Ink!

No, not the scrapping kind. Although, there are still several colors of Distress Ink that I have yet to add to my collection.

I'm talking about tattoos. I know they aren't for everyone, but they ARE for me. I got my first one when I turned 18, ya know, the standard right of passage.

It's on my lower back and means "Angel" though I am far from it. Actually, there is a meaning behind it. My mother's mom, for every birthday and Christmas, would always buy angels for me, that is until she passed on. My mom still does it today, so I have quite the angel collection. My other grandmother is Japanese, so I thought it a fitting way to tie them both together.

Well, this year, I wanted another. It was my Mother's Day present, actually, (a little late). Last year I wanted a nose piercing, this year, a tattoo. I did my research and with the minimal Japanese I can recall from my high school language classes, I was able to figure out what Goose's birth date would look like written in Kanji.

I got it done at Altered States by a guy named UK Mike. He was pretty funny. I think I made him a little uncomfortable though. I kept letting out adult-like (moaning) noises as a knee jerk reaction to the pain. At one point he told me "You better stop or yout boyfriend (Hubs) will come back here and kick my ass!" I totally couldn't help it though, I mean, it hurt... certainly doesn't tickle, that's for sure.

So, I'm quite happy with tattoo number 2 and am already planning out number 3. Thinking of a Japanese haiku, in kanji of course, on my right shoulder. I'm sure it will be a while until I actually get another one, so I have a while to find the right one. If it's gonna be on my body forever, it better be something I want there!

Beautiful tattoos! I've been thinking about getting one, but I'm sure it will be a while. I'm sort of indecisive :)
