WIWT- Ode to Keiko Lynn

I had a whole post planned
and I was gonna gush all things Keiko Lynn
'cuz her style is AH-mazing and my outfit today
totally reminds me of something she would wear.

The outfit is from Fun Junk and (except the tights) completely thrifted.
The shoes came from VV.
The skirt and pink top are handmade and the sweater has lovely lace embellishments.

BUT

Now, as I sit down to write I am lacking motivation.
I had a... challenging (is that the right word?) day.

BUT

I did take the pictures, so I may as well post them.

Throw in a skinny blue belt and vintage Dooney&Burke from my mom...
All in all, $30 (or less) for the entire outfit.
And all "vintage."

Not too shabby I say!

Craft Break!

I've been cleaning all day.

Well, Hubs let me sleep in ('till 11! Whoo!) and I have been cleaning non-stop since getting up. Mainly hauling my craft stuff back up to my craft room (I tend to migrate downstairs cuz I get lonely up there all by myself!) and packing up Christmas decorations. I know, I know, Hubs and I are HUGE procrastinators but the tree is out on the curb and the decorations are packed up. Except for the ornaments. Gonna wait 'till Goose is in bed to pack those away. Its a job easier done without a toddler "helping."

So while folding laundry I found this shirt that apparently Goose took the scissors too. She cut a hole right in the middle front of the shirt.

And then I decided to take a craft break, since the shirt caused a light bulb to go off in my head. I knew just how to fix it! No sewing required and done in under 15 minutes. All you need is some Heat-n-Bond, fabric scraps and an iron (and scissors and a pencil or crayon, thats what I used!)

Photobucket

#1 - Cut out fabric and Heat-n-Bond paper and attach as per the directions on the Heat-n-Bond.

#2 Let fabric cool then sketch your design onto the back of your paper. Cut out.

#3 Again, following the directions on the Heat-n-Bond, attach your fabric to your shirt.
Ta-Da!!

Cute, easy and you'd never know there is a huge hole under there. And Goose was pleased. She thinks I am the "Best Mommy in the WHOOOOLE World" when I make her stuff.

The strawberry fabric is vintage sugar sack fabric and the green corduroy is scrap from a vintage skirt I altered. Both fabrics are from Fun Junk!

Time - in Bullets

It's blog hop day again, and again I don't have a project to show. The subject this week was "time" or "remember" and I had something in mind... I just, well, ran out of time! There is never enough, could be 8 days a week and I would still be stressing for more time. More time for what exactly, just more.

Photobucket

Here are some quick bullets of things I have been meaning to address in their own posts but I just haven't had the time (and our home computer finally died, sad) and I'm lazy!

  • To Nancy - I still have your package. It's under my desk ready to go, I just keep forgetting to grab it when I go to the post office.
  • To Margaret - Still haven't forgotten your blog candy. I think we need to touch base to talk about it so please email me (or I will email you, if I find the time)
  • To the 4 people I owe PIF's to - They will be coming! Promise!
  • All ASP swaps are on their way. It's just one, I think, needing to be mailed to Crystal, so thats's on it's way.
  • The other two blog swaps, will be mailed by the 15th as promised. Of course I will wait 'till the last minute, but it won't be late!
  • My counselor gave me an assignment to think of 20 reasons why I am "worth fighting for" and I am having a really hard time. I think I am going to do a mini-book, no pictures. I need to stop relying on my looks for my self-esteem.
  • Things at home are "bumpy" but we are trucking on. See previous bullet.
  • It's LUNCH TIME!

I'll be back sometime later this week, hopefully, with a picture post from this past weekend. And if you miss me, you can follow me on Twitter. I can tweet from my phone so I'm almost always on there!

Thanks for stopping in, now hop along to the next stop!

I know...

I know. I owe you all a post, BIG TIME. I've just been momentarily obsessed with Twitter and well, just plain lazy. Plus we have been having computer "memory" issues at home which complicates uploading pics. All excuses aside though, it all boils down to me being lazy.

It's not that I don't have things to blog about (I do) or projects to post (quite a few actually) but my desire to sit on the couch and/or sleep has gotten in the way of that. Things have been all well in the Jill of all Trades house it's just... well. I'm lazy. I'm a procrastinator. I do not attempt to deny any of this.

Girl Scouts Honor, (I never was a girl scout though, too much of a tom boy!) I will at LEAST have one post by the weekend. Promise.

All lazy-ness aside, I am pretty good at keeping promises.

Lazy Blogger

I owe you a post, I know. It's been a while. And I have a few posts in the works that I'll probably get to sometime this week.

Just had a lazy weekend in the sunshine.

Hope every one had a Happy Mother's Day!
