Scrappin' Just for ME!

Okay, well, not exactly JUST for me, this was my DT layout for The Squeaky Page, my LSS. But, there was no challenge or anything, just me... sitting down with my paper and embellishments, creating a LO. Not much makes me happier!

Finally got my Stampin Up! order from Shanna and had to play with my new dies (the large butter flies and the top note die; both by Sizzix), so much fun!

I love this paper (can't remember who it's by though) and the colors went perfectly with these pictures of Goose. Sure, maybe I went a little overboard with the butterflies, but I can't get enough. Did I tell you I also bought all of Martha's butterfly punches too. Obsessed, I know!

This is actually the first thing I made from my new SU! stuff.


Just a little card for a friend, wanted to play aroud with my new stuff a bit. The stamp is from the SU! "Comfort Foods" set and it's absolutely adorable!

I feel like I'm cheating on my child...

With beer and scrapbooking!



Hubs and I went out to dinner last night. At a bar. I had a delicious club sandwich and a pint of my FAVORITE beer (Rouge Hazelnut Brown). It's a somewhat local brew, from the Rouge Brewery in Oregon. It's dark and nutty and has yummy coffee undertones without being bitter or too nutty like some dark beers are.

It felt SO WEIRD and WRONG to be out. On a weeknight. Without my baby. No Goose to read bedtime stories to or blow me endless kisses. No little arms wrapped so tightly around my neck I can hardly breathe. No body quaking giggles, no silly grins...

But we did see friends that we haven't been able to hang with for a while (ya know, the childless ones), shot a few games of pool and when we got home, late, I scrapbooked afterwards, so it's not like I'm drowning in tears here. It's just that my partner in crime is missing.

Anyway, here is the LO I got done. It's my DT LO for my LSS. It was an ad challenge, a pretty tough on for me, it was very square and not really my style, but I'm actually pretty satisfied with the LO I came up with.

Title is kinda hard to read, it says "Always the family photog" and the journaling relates to how I'm always behind the lense and how sometimes its fun to turn the camera on myself.





All the cute little owlies are from my friend, Lacey. And don't you just love these funky papers from Bo Bunny?

Wordless Wednesday

A LO to Share... FINALLY!

I haven't scrapped in 4-EV-R! LOL! I just haven't really had any crafty mojo since Christmas. Gift making really zaps it out of me. That, and I have been on a jewelry kick and getting my Etsy store off the ground has been more work than I had anticipated.



This LO is for the DT at the Squeaky Page. It had me super stumped, two pages of vellum. I never use vellum. Ever. One piece was green and the other was white/confetti. I originally printed a 5x7 pic on the white vellum but it was too small so I printed an 8x10 on the green.

This LO is really GREEN to me. The top doesn't feel balanced to me. But Hubs really liked this one, said that the pic printed on green looked cool and he originally thought it was part of the paper. Even though he "doesn't like glitter" it has his man seal of approval.





I do like the rub-on swirls, even if I suck at applying them and if you look closely you can tell they are f-ed up. I guess I just try to be perfect, although I must say that I succeed at LEAST 89% of the time.

Unveiling my "Design Team"

Well, their sorta my design team. Basically I sent some Page charms to some scrapper friends and asked them to use them on a LO or card or really, in any way they wanted to show the different ways to use them. I've used them on some LO's before (here too) and right now I have one on my cell phone... they are very versitile!

DT Layouts!

I really need to start writing down where I get my sketches, because I would hate for you to all think I can come up with ideas on my own. LOL!  Both of these LO's are for The Squeaky Page.

Well, the first one is... I loved the paper so much I had to use it for a second LO.  Also, on the second one (which I know is a Jodie sketch) I got to experiment with some Tim Holtz Grundgeboard and Glossy Accents.

DT LO's

Here are the DT LO's I did for The Squeaky Page for the last couple of months. The first one is most current and I love the way it turned out. Christmas materials all ready? Can you believe it?



And this one is from last month. I forgot to take a pic of it before I turned it in, so this pic is actually a picture of it displayed on her wall in the shop.

It's me and my little bro circa 1989. I wanted to be a rock star just like Jem.

DT LO's

A new month means a new kit from the Squeaky Page. My name is finally up on their webstie as one of the DT members too!!!

There was a challenge with thise months materials as well. The LO we created had to be made with a white background. I did 2 LO's and took two different approaches. The first one was (supposed to be) a clean white background and the second was distressed and inked.

What-a-melon!

Don't you just love it when you find the perfect paper to fit some old pictures you've been wanting to scrap? Well, thats kinda what happened last night. I let DH out of the house for a rare night out with the guys in honor of Father's Day so I got a chance to get some quality time scrappin'. As I was looking for pictures to fit the papers I came across these and they were just what I was looking for! without even knowing it!

The first time Goose had ever tried watermelon. I think she was about 6 months old, it was my sister's birthday party.









These were the DT papers for The Squeaky Page They are by Tinkering Ink, from the Al Fresco line. I cut out the flowers from one of the sheets and mounted it on black paper and layered it on my page. Also included in the kit were the clear acetate flowers and the yellow ribbon.

Picked up my first kit today.



When I took my layouts in today, Paige said that her favorite thing on my LO's is all the distressing I do! My favorite techniqe right now, practically every LO I have done lately has been touched by my HS distressing tool! Anyway, she said that no one else on the DT did that and she liked that it was a little different.

Now I have to dig through my pictures and find one that will work for this paper. I've got some ideas but before I can get to any of that I have to start AND finish the stuff I still need to make for the baby shower this weekend. I'm going to be really crafty the next few nights.

Exciting News!!!

I had something HUGE happen at lunch today. Its payday, so, naturally, I had to go to my favorite LSS, The Squeaky Page. Like I do nearly every payday. Check out her new products and buy some "must haves."

A while back I had brought some LO's in for the owner, Paige, to see. Actually, it was these LO's I wanted to show her. I bought the PP from her and I was, scratch that, AM really proud that I was able to use it on 4 LO's. She loved them and told me that they were thinking of getting some new design team members for the store and that she would let me know when they had some openings.

Well, today was the day. I went in and she told me that her daughter (who is in charge of the DT) wanted to get some fresh blood and asked if I could bring some LO's in on Wednesday to show her. They hand out the DT kits on the first Wednesday of every month. So, I still have to bring my stuff in but Paige was pretty confident that her daughter would like my work!

I left the store and literally started screaming and doing a happy dance in my car. I probably looked pretty ridiculous but I don't really care! I am just SO EXCITED about this. I have wanted to get involved in a DT somehow and I have always been too intimidated to even try. Without the ladies on ASP I would have never had the confidence to bring my work to the LSS in the first place.

I called my mom and told her about it and I don't think she understands what a big deal this is for me. She was pretty much like "Wow, who would have thought. Scrapbooking..." Yeah, thanks mom. Burst my bubble. And unfortunately, Steve will probably have a similar reactions. What is it about non-scrappers, huh? They just don't understand!

But hey, thats what online friends are for, right?
