Bow Tie

Betsy Johnson "Iconic" Collection

Bow Necklace

AND HERE IS WHAT I MADE
It used to be a hairclip.
It broke ages ago and it was too pretty to throw away.
So I saved it.
Well, inspired by all the beautiful bow tie jewelry on trend right now,
I pulled out my broken clip and set to work making a necklace.
I love how it turned out!
I paired it with black, white, and cream peals and used black ribbon to fasten it.

I really want the "Don't Forget" ring above. It's so pretty!

I had a dream about these shoes.

SOLD OUT
As soon as these are back in stock...
they will be
MINE!

#WANT - Dooney&Burke Princess Collection

Bucket Bag

Satchel

Tote

Wristlet

Dooney & Burke has paired with Disney to create this amazing collection of handbags.
Normally, I am not a fan of Disney, or princesses or flashy patterns.
But these bags are just MAGICAL!
I don't know what it is about Dooney & Burke that I love so much.
Maybe its because, growing up, my mom always had the newest Dooney...
The navy and tan leather with gold accents.
So classic.
And even their newer lines are gorgeous!
The craftsmanship, the quality leather.

The wristlet is the cheapest, priced at $70 at the Disney store,
but the one I want is the satchel.
It costs a pretty penny at $220.
I doubt I will be getting it anytime soon (if ever)
But I will drool over them anyway!

Life is a Picnik

I'm constantly on the lookout for free/cheap online photo editing programs.  Editing photos can make a good photo great, a bad photo good.  Whether you are just adjusting colors or changing the style, photo editing is the major difference between professional and amature looking photos.

When I had a computer, my go-to was just iPhoto.  I never had the money or time to get Photoshop, so free and easy is what I need.  I'm not trying to do anything fancy, mainly adding vingettes or changing a color pic to black & white, so iPhoto worked well.  I eventually downloaded Poladroid for a faux polaroid look. And Photobucket's FotoFlexor program works pretty well, except that its so slow.  I liked Rollip alot until they started charging for their edits.

But yesterday, farting around, looking for something comperable to iPhones Hipstamatic app, I found Picnik.  It's free, easy, and fast!!! You can instantly publish your photos to Twitter or Facebook.  I'm thinking of upgrading to the premium version ($24.99 for 1 year) because I like it so much.  Here is a photo I was playing with.

Original photo, no edits

Adjusted color/exposure.

Adjusted color/expsoure,
added vingette, and "lomo-ish" effect.

Holga-ish effect

1960's and Film Grain

Sepia w/ fade and vingette.

CinemaScope

There are so many other features, even more if you upgrade.  I finally have found a picture program that I really really like.  I hope this gives you a good idea of what this program is capable of.  And it is SO easy! No need to know about curves and layers and all that.

And can you tell I have a new favorite picture ever?
I love them so!

Product Placement Thursday

Trader Joes
A Midsummer Nights Cream

This stuff is amazing!
I have super dry skin, especially in the winter.

It's been so bad in the past that I've had to use baby oil as a moisturizer.
I get the ashy knees and elbows. Bumps on the back of my arms.
Dry skin on my legs, especially after shaving.

But this amazing lotion is a cure all!
It is nice and thick and creamy but not greasy.
It's got a relatively quick dry time and
It leaves your skin feeling silky and smooth.
AND
It's not so heavy you that you can't use it on your face in a pinch, either.

It's unscented, but has a nice herbal "non-scent", if you know what I mean.
Goose has dry skin too and this stuff works great on her.
Neither of us has sensitive skin, just dry.

It's cruelty-free, no animal by-products or testing here.
AND (a major plus)
It's only about $4 a bottle.

WONDERFUL!!!

PS - Tomorrow is the last day.
Have you entered???
Better hurry!!!

Product Placement Thursday!! Beauty Review.

Yes, I know its not Thursday yet.
Deal with it.
Cordially, KelsyC

Recently, I've become slightly obsessed with nail polish.
Never in my life have I ever been this diligent with making sure they are painted.
I'm just way to lazy AND I never really cared.
But now my philosophy is
short, trimmed, and changed often.

I don't care if its expensive polish or the $.99 stuff! I just love color.
And lots of it! Matching or not.  Whatever fits my mood.
And I discovered a product that has become INDISPENSABLE during my nail polish adventures.

Let me tell you, this stuff is AH-mazing!!! It's a little on the expensive side but worth every penny.
One quick coat makes ANY nail polish virtually indestructible.
Even the cheap stuff.
And it dries ANY polish in 2 minutes or under!

That means I can go almost a full 7 days (okay, really more like 5) with a next to perfect manicure.
Which for me, is great.
10-15 minutes to remove the old coat and put on a new one.
Add the top coat.
Wait two minutes.
Dry.

You can even go to bed within 30 minutes of painting, and with the top-coat,
NO smudging!!!

So for a lazy, unmotivated, time-crunched mom, this stuff is perfect.
It also works nicely for wiggly toddlers who want their toes painted
BUT don't want to sit still long enough for them to dry!

**I am not paid for any product reviews!**
Any product opinions are based on my true feelings.
I am not paid or compensated in anyway.
However
Should anyone want to send me products to review, I will do so gladly.
And I will make sure to notify my readers as such.

As Seen on TV Thursday

I think I have crossed over from mom who blogs to Mommy Blogger.  I have features on my blog now.  Yes, that was feature"s", as in more than one.  First we have the Wardrobe Re-mix posts, then... new this week... Wild Thing Wednesday (and of course there's always "Wordless Wednesday" or "Friday Favs" for an easy cop out) anyway... I am going to start doing an "As Seen on TV" post on either Tuesday or Thursday.  This week, its Thursday.  Maybe I won't do it next week... maybe it'll be Tuesday. You know me and blogging, I'm still a little commitment-phobe. Not that I don't love you all. really its not you, its me. Hahaha!

Okay, so the plan is to just try out different products and talk about it.  At the current moment I am not paid by anyone, nothing has been sent to me, all this stuff I have bought out of pocket.  But maybe its just me, but I'm kinda a sucker for the "As Seen on TV" shit... stuff on commercials even. Why limit it to infomercials?  That said... if anyone would like to send me products to review, I will happily accept them if you are willing to accept an HONEST review of your product.

PRODUCT REVIEW - BUMPITS
Photobucket

My first choice iss "Bumpits." I gotta admit, I was a bit skeptical. I have pretty fine hair and I can rarely get things like this to work. But I bought it to use with my Halloween costume (I'm going as a HOT Betty Crocker. Cupcake, anyone?) and I also bought this nasty 60's style bouffant wig. The Bumpits couldn't be worse then the wig and for $10 it wasn't a huge loss if they didn't work.

On the way home (Hubs was driving) I read the instructions, they were a little hard to follow; but once I got in front of the mirror I found them really easy to use. Not only that, but they are comfortable. There was one time that I hit my head on the roof of my car... (I wasn't really paying attention to the extra height of the Bumpit)yeah, that kinda hurt a bit.

Photobucket

The medium size works great for every day use, adding some height, but not so over the top you can't wear it to work. I especially like the half-up/down styles, pinned back styles, ponys and headbands. I will probably use the large or even double Bump-it (yeaz, thats right) for Halloween.  These are really versatile and totally worth the $10 I spent. PLUS, now I don't have to wear that nasty wig.

*Medium Bumpit, front and side view
Photobucket
*Large Bumpit, hair down with a skinny headband.
My hair will probably be something like this for Halloween.
I'll probably curl it though.

I wore it in a pony the other day and I think I may try it down or pinned back. Either way, this is a really fun product to play around with. I bought mine at Best Buy (of all places) but I'm sure you can find it at Walmart or Target or online someplace.  Maybe if you are lucky, you can find a BOGO deal and share with a friend!
